How long does each one sit?
Rocco & Roxie says to let the standard cleaner stand at least 1 hour, and longer is better.4 For stains that are set in, dried up or very deep it says several hours or overnight.7 For older stains its FAQ says a couple of days.8
Nature's Miracle says to soak the spot, wait 15 minutes and blot.2 For old or stubborn odors its Advanced formula says to lay a wet towel over the spot for 1 to 2 hours.9
What is in each one?
Rocco & Roxie's label lists water, an advanced biological blend, a non-ionic surfactant and fragrance.1 The maker says it uses both bacteria and enzymes.10
Nature's Miracle Urine Destroyer Plus lists a microbial mixture, alcohol ethoxylates, a preservative, fragrance and d-limonene.2 Its Advanced cleaner lists an enzymatic blend, isopropyl alcohol, fresh fragrance and a preservative.3
Rocco & Roxie's Extreme spray is different: it lists a Meyer lemon oil blend.11 Pet Poison Helpline lists citrus oil (d-limonene), pine, peppermint, cinnamon, clove, eucalyptus and tea tree oils among those known to poison cats.12
Which one is better on hardwood?
Neither is a clear win. Rocco & Roxie says to use it sparingly on wood, because too much water can swell or warp it.13 Nature's Miracle says not to use its cleaners on untreated hardwood.14 Our hardwood floor page covers this in full.
Which one costs less per ounce?
The table works out cost per ounce from today's price for each bottle. Both makers sell a 1 gallon bottle, which is the larger size for each, so compare the two gallon rows: Nature's Miracle Dog Urine Destroyer Plus2 and Rocco & Roxie Stain & Odor Eliminator.1 Nature's Miracle is the pick when price per ounce matters most.
