Cheapest laundry detergent sheets (cost per load)
Buy Tru Earth sheets: they cost the least per load among brands that publish a full ingredient list.1 Makers count a load differently, so we use each maker's own dose; one "300-load" box is really 150 sheets.2, 3

Two suspects. One pick.
Tru Earth Laundry sheets, Unscented, 128 loads
Our pickLowest cost per load with a full ingredient list. The maker counts 128 loads in 64 strips and publishes every ingredient; each load costs less than Clean People's sheets, which have nearly the same list.1
Earth Breeze Laundry sheets, Fresh Scent, 180 loads
Best known sheets in a big pack. It uses half a sheet a load, and it is the sheet most readers have heard of.2
Every sheet we checked, counted by the maker's own dose
The load count is the maker's dose for a regular load, not the Amazon title, and the price is divided by it each day. The large-load column shows what a pack costs if your loads are big.

Load counts that do not mean what they say
Fisroa Laundry sheets, Fresh Linen, '300 loads'
The title counts 300 loads, but the listing says 300 small loads equal 150 large loads and 150 sheets. No ingredient list is published, so we do not recommend it.8
How do you count a load of laundry sheets?
We use each maker's own dose for a regular load. Earth Breeze says half a sheet for regular loads and a full sheet for large loads.2 Clean People says one strip, which is half a sheet, for a medium load.10 ECOS says to add one sheet to a load.3 Arm & Hammer says one sheet for a medium load and two for a large one.6
That means the same pack can be 90 loads or 180 loads depending on how full your washer is. Use the large-load column if you wash big loads.
Why is Tru Earth the pick?
Tru Earth sells 64 strips as 128 loads, and publishes every ingredient.11, 12 Its list matches Clean People's list except for one added surfactant, and each load costs less.7
The list has polyvinyl alcohol as the dissolving film and glycereth-6 cocoate, a name with an ethoxylated link. Both are flags to know about, not proof of harm.12
Are there sheets with a lower price than Tru Earth?
Poesie's listing works out to a lower price per load, but we do not recommend it. It has no maker page and no ingredient list, and its listing says Fragrance Free while naming essential oil.4 The Fisroa box says 300 loads, but the listing says that is 300 small loads, or 150 sheets.8
We kept both on the table so you can see why. If you want to read the label, Tru Earth is the one to buy.
Which cheap sheets are fragrance free?
Tru Earth Unscented, ECOS Free & Clear and Clean People Fragrance Free list no fragrance.1, 5, 7 Earth Breeze and Arm & Hammer on this page are scented.2, 6

The paper trail
Every product on this page was looked up in the EPA Safer Choice list, CPSC recalls, California Prop 65 notices and EWG’s database. We read each maker’s full ingredient label and worked out what a load or an ounce really costs. Every flag links to where it came from. How we snoop.
